Faeries

According to some folklore faeries are the hidden forces behind human misfortune; interlopers pulling pagan strings of fate. Other tales tell of faeries as the original species of humanoids to live on Earth, rendered invisible by the steady encroachment of the giants— us! In some versions of the invisibility legend cold iron is the charm used to ward faeries from human perception. In a way, the faerie legend has come full circle, from the intention of explaining invisible misfortune to the modern inverse: explaining invisible faeries by the visible misfortune of the environment.
These faeries are part of a scale exercise, to develop characters and environments in miniature. The scenes show a time before faeries phased into the invisible.
